2. SUBSTANCE USE POLICY

Diverse City acknowledges the personal choice and medical necessity that may involve the use of vaping and medical cannabis. To ensure a safe and respectful environment, our policy allows the use of these substances within specific guidelines, while actively discouraging the use of nicotine.

Vaping: Vaping devices may be used while cigarettes are prohibited. We encourage the use of non-nicotine options to promote healthier choices within our community. Diverse City discourages the use of nicotine products, including cigarettes and nicotine-containing vapes. We aim to foster a healthier environment and support members who seek to reduce or quit nicotine usage.
Respect for Others: Members must always consider their peers, using substances discreetly and ensuring their actions do not adversely affect the group’s atmosphere or other members' comfort.
3. CONFIDENTIALITY
The foundation of trust in our community hinges on the absolute confidentiality of discussions and personal information shared within the group. This confidentiality is critical as it allows members to express themselves freely, without fear of external judgment or repercussions.
Non-Disclosure: Members must not share information discussed in group settings outside of the group.
Privacy Protection: Personal data or sensitive information about members must be treated with the highest level of discretion and security.
4. RESPECTFUL COMMUNICATION
Respectful communication is the cornerstone of interactions within Diverse City. It is essential that all members communicate in a way that is supportive, constructive, and inclusive. This fosters a positive atmosphere and promotes effective and empathetic dialogue.
Active Listening: Members are encouraged to listen attentively and respectfully, allowing others to express their thoughts without interruption.
Positive Engagement: Contributions to discussions should be constructive and should aim to build understanding and insight.
5. HARASSMENT-FREE ENVIRONMENT
Diverse City is committed to maintaining a harassment-free environment. Harassment in any form—whether physical, verbal, sexual, or emotional—will not be tolerated. Any member who violates this policy may face immediate removal from the group. This policy is in place to ensure that all members feel safe and respected at all times.
6. ATTENDANCE AND PARTICIPATION
Regular attendance is encouraged to foster a stable and supportive environment. While participation in discussions and activities is not mandatory, it is strongly encouraged as a way to enhance both personal and group growth. Members are encouraged to contribute in whatever way feels comfortable to them, whether through active discussion, listening, or participating in group activities. Members who do not regularly participate will be asked to consider another support group or will be removed from Diverse City
7. CONFLICT RESOLUTION
Conflicts, when they arise, should be handled with maturity and a constructive approach. It is important that all disputes among members are resolved in a manner that upholds the dignity of all parties involved and preserves the integrity of the group.
Direct Communication: Members are encouraged to address conflicts directly with those involved in a calm and respectful manner.
Mediation: If resolution cannot be achieved independently, the intervention of a designated mediator or group leader may be sought to facilitate a fair resolution.
